Bag Lady

Five shopping carts containing numerous plastic bags filled with garbage. As long as these things don’t block foot traffic, nobody cares.

The heart is sewn onto her coat. I left the original color on it while turning the rest of the photo black and white to make it stand out more.

“As long as these things don’t block foot traffic…”

Things as in bags of trash or the homeless? Yeah, that’s what I thought…
    brilliant fucking photo.

She reminds me of a lady that was always at the grocery store downtown when I was growing up. She was the nicest lady! I asked her one day (figure, I was oh… 7 years old I think) - “How come you don’t go home?” (it was REALLY cold out!)

She smiled and gave me a tootsie roll pop and said “Oh honey, I’m too free of a spirit to be at home. And you wouldn’t know where I live to come see me every day.”

Hey, that was enough for me… I just figured she was a Goddess. ;)

Cut myself off there………….. good thing I re-read my comments!

    AND!

Absolutely perfect picture. It does seem that at times the homeless fade into the background if you do not pay attention. They should stand out, as much as the red in her heart.

Thanks Kimchi for a thought provoking pic.

(I still say my friend at the supermarket was a Goddess or Angel - I cried when I didn’t see her anymore.)

NOW I’m done with my comment. ;)

That picture is well-taken and well-portrayed. Sometimes words are not good enough to explain and show anything in the world except through pictures. And this picture speaks more than words will ever do.

And that heart, how you kept it in colour, reminds me of what Spielberg did in Schindler’s List…

This piece of human garbage has no right sleeping on public property. She is clearly either insane, an alcoholic, a druggy, or schizophrenic, like all other bums.

Idiots like you stop these people being commited to institutions.

Fuck off with your moronic lefty blather.

Worse than a moron is a punk too cowardly to own the insults he dishes out.

I agree with that one Kimchi. If ya come through and try to make a statement you think is bold, show how truly bold you are and leave your name.

But, then…. funny how folks sometimes prove their own point.

Have an awesome New Years to your readers! Keep safe.

OH, btw “bum” next person I see that resembles this fine lady - I’m giving them a $5 in your name. hee hee I love life!

Love and Light! Monica (that’s my name!)

great photo. most often, everyone comes across these folks and just regard them as “the homeless” or “bums”,…but they all have a story of some sort and we just don’t ever hear it.

yep, everyone’s got a story. it’s one selfish fucker that can’t see beyond the person that one has become.

What city was this picture taken in? We have homeless people in Atlanta, but I don’t seem them with that many buggies of things with them.
